Pengcheng

When Fu Su reaches Pengcheng, he helps a girl kill three black bears. Instead of receiving thanks, Fu Su is blamed by the girl for interfering with her practise. Following the girl, Fu Su goes to her home and meets Xiao Qi. Xiao Qi tells Fu Su he is planning to kill a dangerous monster, Shanyi. Fu Su can find the monster in the north of the city and kill it if his party is powerful enough; alternatively, Fu Su can gather two materials, Heavenly Iron and Iron-pine Wood, for Xiao Qi to make a device to hunt the monster. No matter which course Fu Su takes, after the monster is killed, Xiao Qi will tell Fu Su a craftsman named Tian Gang may be helpful in this matter. Although Xiao Qi refuses Fu Su’s invitation to join, his apprentice, Jing Wuji, an assassin, will be available to join Fu Su’s party.

Side quest 1: If Fu Su has gone to Taishan Mountain and learned the information about Monkey-fruit Wine, he will meet an old man in the inn asking Fu Su to get him the wine. The accomplishment of the quest will trigger another quest in Handan.

Side quest 2: A woman weaver tells Fu Su her shuttle is broken. Fu Su can buy her one or first learn the skill from a carpenter in the city and then make one for her.

Side quest 3: Outside the courier station of Pengcheng, Fu Su learns a courier’s saddle has been stolen. He then makes one for the courier.

Chapter 3 Craftsman Tian Gang

Hengshan Village

Fu Su goes to Hengshan Village in an attempt to find the craftsman, Tian Gang, but no one knows the man. However, Fu Su hears that the forging skill of a blacksmith in the village has greatly improved recently and decides to visit the blacksmith. The blacksmith tells Fu Su his hammer has been stolen and three men are under suspicion. After investigation, Fu Su figures out that Qian Si is responsible for the theft and gets back the hammer for the blacksmith. Then the blacksmith tells Fu Su the huge improvement in his forging skill results from a book by Tian Gang. Furthermore, the blacksmith teaches Fu Su how to make hunting traps.

According to the blacksmith’s clue, Fu Su finds a cave northwest of the village and Tian Gang is inside. But the cave is brimming with deadly traps. An assassin can detect and remove those traps via her exclusive skills Gold Vision (at least level 4) and Device Master.

Finally, Fu Su approaches Tian Gang and finds he is a cowardly and greedy man. Although Fu Su promises to give him half of the treasures buried with his father, Tian Gang still wants to test Fu Su’s ability. He asks Fu Su first to get him a piece of jade from a rich merchant in Hengshan.

Hengshan

Having no choice, Fu Su has to go to Hengshan. The rich merchant is Wu Jie and Fu Su learns his son has been kidnapped by a group of robbers. Then Fu Su heads north and gets back Wu Jie’s son by either fighting or paying ransom money. Afterward, Fu Su will get the jade pendant.

At the rear door of Wu Jie’s residence, Fu Su meets Han Xin and can recruit him. But Fu Su must first defeat him.

After being given the jade pendant, Tian Gang tells Fu Su of a secret entrance to the First Emperor’s tomb. But to remove the huge stone blocking the entrance, Fu Su must first get one of the seven precious swords: Ganjiang, Moye, Yuchang, Zhanlu, Juque, Gongbu and Tai’e. These swords are dispersed all over the country. In addition, Fu Su is told he must get the Gold-toad Pearl before he goes into the tomb and it may be found in the Miao territories.

Side quest 1: Fu Su helps the carpenter get back his toolkit in the woods and the carpenter will give Fu Su a piece of Longan wood.

Side quest 2: If Fu Su accepts the quest in Taishan Mountain to collect the raw materials for Wu Xin, he can learn from a passerby in the city where Mao Sen lives. Fu Su then gives the Longan wood to Mao Sen and he will tell Fu Su his brother, Mao Lin, has moved to Chencheng.

Side quest 3: Fu Su accepts an old woman’s quest to send a coat to her husband in a shop in Pengcheng.

Taishan Mountain

Fu Su can find the Iron-pine Wood there.

Side quest 1: Near the door of the inn at Taishan Mountain, an old beggar asks Fu Su to buy him some wine. Fu Su does it, but after that the old beggar asks for a kind of wine called Holy Wine. Although the innkeeper has some, he wants another kind of wine called Monkey-fruit Wine in exchange.

Then Fu Su heads for Cloudy Valley and gets two bottles of Monkey-fruit Wine. After meeting the old beggar’s need, he tells Fu Su that Wu Xin has the Zhanlu Sword, one of the seven swords. Fu Su also learns from the old beggar that Fu Su’s old friend, Xu Fu, is living a reclusive life here. Furthermore, the old beggar tells Fu Su that his father had shown symptoms of poisoning before his death.

In a civilian house, Fu Su meets his old friend Xu Fu. Xu Fu tells Fu Su he has got rich through trading and Fu Su promises to go with him to visit the islands off the mainland one day.

Side quest 2: Having found Wu Xin, Fu Su says he wants to borrow the Zhanlu Sword. Wu Xin won’t give it to him unless Fu Su does him a favor first.

Side quest 3: Fu Su helps Wu Xin clear the aqueduct and make the water run out again. Then Wu Xin tells Fu Su the materials, Cedar and Earth-fire Stone, for forging a sword have been stolen. Then Fu Su goes to Cloud Valley for the Earth-fire Stone and Hengshan for the Cedar. After the two materials are collected, Wu Xin will give Fu Su two swords, the Ghost-fire Dagger and the Zhanlu Sword.

Jiujiang

At the east side of Jiujiang, Fu Su can find the Heavenly Iron for making the trap to hunt Monster Shanyi.

Side quest 1: Wu Fugui raises a “dog” and it turns to be a wolf when it grows up. Fu Su helps him kill the wolf.

Side quest 2: Fu Su helps Xiaoqi kill some monsters and rescue his brother Xiaoyi.

Side quest 3: Fu Su helps an old man reconcile with his son. If now Fu Su has got 35 in fame, he will get the Gongbu Sword, one of the seven swords.

Side quest 4: Fu Su meets Qing Bu, a wizard, in the northwest of the city and comes back later after hearing that Chen Sheng has been killed. Qing Bu tells Fu Su the murderer is now in the southeast of the city. After Fu Su kills the murderer, Qing Bu will be available to join.

Huqiu

There is no main quest, but Fu Su can get the Ganjiang Sword, one of the seven swords.

Side quest 1: Fu Su kills some bandits in a cave and gets the Ganjiang Sword and a fake Moye Sword. But Fu Su learns that the real Moye Sword is in Julu. Fu Su should go there at once, otherwise he may never get the sword.

Side quest 2: Fu Su makes a bet with a man and the right answer is “Vat”.

Side quest 3: Fu Su picks up a small bag and just returns it to its owner.

Changsha

Side quest 1: Fu Su hears from a man named Chen You that many young girls have mysteriously disappeared including the daughter of the Magistrate. Fu Su finds the criminal named Yin Ge and gives him the punishment he deserves.

Side quest 2: Fu Su learns from Chen Ping that a lot of tigers at the southeast side of the city are threatening the normal lives of the civilians nearby. Fu Su then goes there and kills the tigers.

Side quest 3: A fungus which is used to cure Su Ze’s mother has been snatched by the rich man Qi. Fu Su gets it back through either fighting or paying him some gold.

Chapter 4 Seven Swords

Zhaocun Village

Side quest 1: Fu Su returns to Zhaocun Village which has already been destroyed by Qin troops. As Fu Su goes near to the center of the village, he finds a group of soldiers are going to attack Zhao Qian and some other villagers. Fu Su learns that he is the cause of all the destruction and that the soldiers are there to arrest him. Fu Su is furious about this and then kills all the soldiers. Afterward, Zhao Qian is willing to join Fu Su.

Side quest 2: Fu Su hears from the head of the village about the Peach Garden and decides to find it so that it can be a new homeland for the villagers. Fu Su then goes into the northernmost cave outside the village. There Fu Su meets some monsters and a sage and he must pass all their tests. Some can be solved by means of fighting, but some need Fu Su to answer questions correctly. After Fu Su passes all of these tests, he comes out and talks again to the head of the village and Zhao Cheng.

Side quest 3: In the Peach Garden, Fu Su sees Master Gui Guzi studying a chess game. If Fu Su’s wisdom is high enough, he can try solving the problem for Master Gui Guzi. If Fu Su obtained the book of the Art of War by Sun Bin from his own residence before, he will get some tips and this quest will become easier. Although Fu Su successfully solves the problem, he remains modest while replying to Master Gui Guzi. Then the old man will give Fu Su the book of Gui Guzi and a shield.

Hun encampment

When Fu Su arrives at the Hun encampment, Modu can join Fu Su’s party.

Side quest 1: In a tent, a Hun soldier has lost his sword and asks for Fu Su’s help. Fu Su finds it in the next tent and returns it to him. Otherwise, the soldier will call for other soldiers.

Side quest 2: Fu Su learns from the Prime Minister, Modu’s uncle, that the Khan is hunting in the northern part. According to their conversation, Fu Su may get help from two Hun soldiers. When Fu Su’s party finds Touman, the hatred between him and his son can no longer be reconciled. Touman summons two monsters to help him. Finally, Fu Su kills Touman and returns to the Prime Minister’s tent.

But Fu Su discovers that the Prime Minister is masterminding a scheme to kill both Touman and Modu in order to seize the throne himself. Having no choice, Fu Su then kills the Prime Minister and gets the Juque Sword, one of the seven swords. Modu then leaves Fu Su’s party, but Fu Su can recruit him again if he wants.
